do you know how to cook, even just a few simple recipes, or do you hate the idea of home cooking and prefer to always rely on restaurants and take aways, or just prepare easy snacks like sandwiches and melted cheese on toast?
I have to hold my hands up and admit to being a lousy cook. I can get by on the basics, and I have just managed to crack co-ordinating beans on toast. I find it a chore, although I do like making desserts...I try to limit the amount of takeaways I eat as well, I really should make an effort to source some healthy recipe ideas.
I prefer to eat out but it fairly makes a dent in the old purse.

Keep the original one - it's very aesthetically pleasing! lol

on friday i let you guys know that my final jc was happening on sunday.
thanks so much for all the comments and well wishes.
i was nervous before i went - and though i've given up the faith i haven't given up my belief in god and his direction.. two of the three elders have seen me grow up - i was born in the truth.
I am so pleased for you Loubelle! That took enormous strength and courage on your part, hopefully others in the same situation will be able to be inspired by your example.

finally, i will look at biblical and patristic evidence bearing on the crucifixion of jesus in particular.
we need to examine the earliest known descriptions of the kind of crucifixion adopted by the romans and the specific terms they used to refer to it.
apparently the society believes that crux still meant "stake" in the second century a.d., when tacitus composed his annals.
I would like to add to the praise - brilliant article which I have also copied and kept for future reference. It ran to 22 pages (almost 20,000 words!) in Word. This could be submitted as a thesis lol!

whenever i would see a watchtower or awake at the laundromat, i used to just rip them up and throw them away.
but now i carry labels on me that have been printed off my computer and stick them on the mags.
i have several types that are printed with such sayings as ( " this is a cult " included with freeminds website ) and ( "jehovah's witnesses cover-up child rape and abuse " included with silent lambs website ) i feel this is more successful as the magazine cannot be picked up without having the sticker in your face.
That's a terrific idea - would hopefully make people think more about what being a dub actually involves.
We also had a little 5 year old in our congo who would tell people that if they didn't take the magazines they would die. Terrible stuff to fill kids minds with.

im a liverpool fan and am currently beside myself with exitement.
this is by far the biggest game we have played in 20 years and im getting so jittery i fear i may pass out.
Wow - what a game!
I'm still recovering from Sunday when the Gers snatched the league title in dramatic fashion from Celtic up here in Scotland. A great week for the footie fan!

alright, i admit, i was a child of the 80s (or what i can remember) but the real reason for this thread is i have noticed that there is quite a few of people on this site that are close to me in age or just a little bit younger or older.
i will be 28 in june.
i think that this period in my life is a deep questioning period, because at younger ages i didnt give a flip about anything jw or ex-jw for that matter.
Chortle and the Wheelies?
Oh yeah! Chorlton and the Wheelies!!!! There was the Welsh witch in it called Fenella and Chorlton would always say..." Ello little old lady" in a broad Northern accent. Fenella was actually quite scary and gave me nightmares!
I loved Bagpuss - that was cool, and Camberwick Green and Trumpton. Will o the Wisp was also brilliant! They don't make em like that anymore lol!

dual cassette decks with high-speed dubbing
Oh wow! We had that in our main stereo system at home, I'd forgotten all about that! We also had our bookstudy in an elder's house and he had one of those stereo systems that played both sides of the record without you having to turn it over. I can't find a google pic tho - a company called Amstrad made them.
I also remember spending hours typing out programmes for my ZX Spectrum 48K computer. There used to be pages and pages of them in computer mags and I could never get them to work. Miss a semi colon somewhere and you were screwed.
10 PRINT " Freedom Fighter Rocks "
20 GOTO 10
YAY!!! I filled the screen!!!!!!

What a great time to be a kid! I was a huge Duran Duran fan, my bedroom were covered in their posters, and my denim jacket was smothered in badges. Also - I loved playing air guitar to the Thundercats theme tune. Scooby Doo was great and we had a great Saturday morning show called Tiswas, starring the Phantom Flan Flinger.
I had a Spectrum 48K computer with some really cool games like 'Horace Goes Skiing'. I was really jealous when my cousin got a Commodore 64, now that was real high spec!
There was a girl in my class at high school who could solve a Rubiks cube in under 3 minutes - I just peeled the stickers off mine.
I had the legwarmers, the 'Fame' album, and wished my school would break into song at lunchtime too. I also grew a floppy fringe which I attempted to dye blonde and it ended up a luverly shade of ginger, oh well! So many memories!
